The district has committed itself to the integration of computer technology into the learning environment. In the fall of 2006, both computer labs at the middle/high school were completely upgraded with new equipment. Lab 1 (adjacent to the library) has 26 new computers, all equipped with re-writable CD and/or DVD drives. The lab is equipped with both laser and ink jet printers, digital cameras, scanners, LCD projectors and a Smart Board. A wide array of software packages including Microsoft Office XP (PowerPoint, Word, Access, Excel, Word), Microsoft Explorer, Inspiration, language and science programs, keyboarding programs and software designed to prepare students to do well on the ACT and SAT tests. Research is facilitated by access to OPAC- the card catalog, SIRS--Social Issues Research Service, Discover (college and career software). Many of the research databases are available as links at the Waterville School website through Microsoft Explorer. This lab is available for student and staff use throughout the day and after school.
